Current available
edits: Below are our current selections for
music based upon our recent experience and the experience of the
industry, region and our associates. Feel free to ask for any of
these tracks or suggest your own ideas. After all, it is your
wedding and we strive to personalize the day for you! These edits are usually played after, prior to and the end of an introduction or "toast" and allows guests time to enter a room, walk to microphone, etc. These edits further prompt your guests to applaud, cheer and welcome the guest. The music can send a message to your audience (and the guest) about how you feel about them, their occupation, accomplishments, relationships, hobbies, etc. The list below represents the current tracks in rotation (current edits used at any given time depending upon customer demand and popularity). {List changes constantly}
Custom Edits - Are commonly used in television, theatre and movies. The edits used by A Perfect DJ are not for sale and are individually prepared and edited for a one-time presentation. These edits are performed using fully licensed and owned music. Because of this, they (and A Perfect DJ) do not violate copyright law. A Perfect DJ is sensitive to the legal and ethical issues associated with copyrights, copyright infringement and owns and controls copyrights to many works itself.

Your music selections for the "Cocktail Hour/Dinner Hour" should always be more understated than music used in other areas of your wedding. We encourage you to use tracks that are "love oriented" and more low-keyed. At the majority of weddings, all ages are present during this time. It is important to cater to everyone's needs.
If "mom" of "grandma" does not hear music that brings home the point that you just got married you may disappoint them. Mom & Grandma live for these moments. Try not to let them down! Our documentation extensively interviews you to find the types and styles of music you desire for this time in advance.
However, we also know that the music planning of a wedding can be overwhelming. So, sometimes you just want to leave this programming up to the professional DJ instead of stressing-out over it all. If this is the case, we understand. In this situation, we would play a mix of old and new from Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean martin, Louis Armstrong, ("Rat-Pack Jazz" etc.) through the 50's and 60's selections (possibly some easy Motown, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Bobby Darin, Elvis Presley, etc.) and well into modern romantics like Harry Connick, Jr., John Legend, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Ben Harper, Michael Buble', etc. If you want only country love songs or "some" country music in addition to other typical selections just let us know. We can mix all genres from any and all eras to suit your needs.
It is important that the DJ you hire should never allow their personal tastes in music have an influence with the music services you receive. A DJ should NEVER play only what they think is appropriate if it contradicts your wishes nor should they be a critic and try to assume that they know what is better for your wedding than you and your guests.
One recommendation though: Many times a "well-wishing friend" or sometimes an inexperienced DJ will do a web search for the the all-time "top" wedding songs and play them at this time. In our experience, it is NOT the time to play your "A-material." Why? Because the catering staff is busy moving tables, food and drink while photographers and videographers are doing their jobs as well. Your guests are transitioning from one activity to the next. Some guests may find the urge too great NOT to dance. You may then frustrate others who want to dance but know its not the right time or they may upset the flow of your wedding. As vendors, our job is to efficiently transition from activity to activity so that your "party time" at the end of the night is maximized.
